An initiative from the youngest member of the group is a definitive mobile device application for MHM group.  Though not as fancy as its Goliath brothers MHM gazelle and MHV web, the MHMPocketPC initiative can be another plus element for both vibration analysts and ammm marketing? (LOL) .  Anyway, i digress to the more technical side.   Programming on the .NET Compact Framework is not as far from programming on Windows. Yes, its a bit limited, orientation is quite limited and instead of a mouse, we take advantage of a pen called stylus.  But it can still be seen in the context of windows.

The MHVPocketPC is so far an offline viewer for important historical data pertaining to the health of a machine.  This animal is an xml-based interpreter.  The file path is currently hard coded so it has to be on \Program Files\MHM Mobile folder. and named Fault.SnapShot.xml.  It has a summary grid, charting panel, image window and a navigation tree.  Nothing much going for this handheld friend of ours but I’m hoping the group explores the possibilities we can do with mobility as an advantage.

Hello Discussion Boards.
This is jump ball for my discussion board utilization.  To start with I want to do a little introduction of my resposibilities to the Management Applications Group, Emerson Process Management, MHM Manila.  Im currently working on Microsoft Sharepoint and Windows Mobile devices to create next generation applications for Machinery Health Manager group.  Im sort of a flexible and liberated web programmer on the lookout for new ways to make MHM products available everywhere (web, sharepoint, rss, pocket pc’s).  As the group is currently on research and prototyping phase, I’m also seeking to create new interfaces for Machine History Viewer.

Channel 9’s Building ASP.NET Web Parts for Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0
http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=192071  – I started by watching this demo video on creating web parts.  This also taught me ground zero development on Sharepoint.  Watching this video allows a developer to create web parts even without the use of sharepoint templates on visual studio.
MSDN’s Custom Tool Part
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms948930.aspx – Tool part programming is (for me) a very essential part of sharepoint programming.  Microsoft was responsible enough to publish how to create custom tool parts specifically tailored to your web part.
